In this video, Scott Caldwell takes us through a move from a very real and very brutal situation he was in where he found himself being choked by a much bigger assailant. In this situation he was already beginning to lose consciousness and so had to act swiftly and decisively. Please remember the law dictates that minimum force must be used and one must be able to justify the amount of force used. In Scott’s case he had reasonable cause to believe his life was in danger so his brutal defence was both justified and necessary.
In his second defence – a rear choke, he talks about some of the options while highlighting some of the differences between the Dojo and the street.
